On Wednesday afternoon (11 Sep), between 16:00 and 18:30 CEST we invite all workshop participants for a guided tour of “Warsaw of Maria Skłodowska-Curie”. We will confirm the time and place where we meet our guide during the first day’s proceedings. During the walk we will not visit the Museum of Maria Skłodowska-Curie, though.
If you have more appetite for Warsaw sightseeing you can book a tour at Warsaw Historic Centre – Free Walking Tour by Walkative!
On the 2nd day of the workshop (Thursday, 12 September 2024) we offer you visiting IGF PAS Stanisław Kalinowski Geophysical Observatory in Świder, after which we will have the workshop dinner in the neighbourhood of the observatory in Otwock-Świder. We will depart from the workshop venue in Warsaw at about 3:30-4:00pm, and later depart from Otwock about 8:30-9:00pm. More details of the trip and dinner and confirmation of hours will follow.
Update: The workshop dinner will be held in Z-Hotel Business & Spa, Wczasowa 25, Otwock-Świder.
We aim to hold a general poster session or two, depending on the number of contributions, to share the result of our research and to facilitate discussion. A subject for the posters could be directly related to the atmospheric global electric circuit (GEC) or concern any topic that is related with its environment, phenomena, also research methods, and the history of research.
We do not intend to apply strict specifications for the poster format except the maximum size of 100 x 125 cm. We have poster boards suitable for the presentation of the standard A0 and A1 poster sizes and smaller ones. When you decide on the size of your poster please inform us, especially if this is an irregular size.
Update: We plan to schedule lightning talks at the begnining of the poster session which has been planned on Thursday. Please constact us if you will be interested in a short talk (~5 min) to the audience about your poster.
Attention workshop participants looking for cheaper accommodation as well as willing to visit and acquaint themselves with the Institute of Geophysics Central Observatory in Belsk ! We can offer one guest room available for double occupancy (194 PLN/day) and two rooms for triple occupancy (230 PLN/day). The rooms could be also used for single occupancy (156 PLN/day). Linen and towels are provided. The bathroom is shared. There is a kitchen and a dining room for guests. The rooms will be made available on a first-come first-served basis. Due to refurbishment works the guest rooms at the Institute in Warsaw are not available. We intend to organise car transportation from Belsk to Warsaw.
